During the Oct. 13, 2025 School Board Meeting,

Fifth graders Claire Ammons and Dylan King from Kent Prairie Elementary shared their Cedar Springs Camp experience with the school board. They learned about stream life, forest ecology, and survival skills. The also experienced archery, capture the flag and other team-building activities!
Executive Director of Operations Brian Lewis provided the board with an update on the Highway 530 sale.
APS School to Work Coordinator Lisa Rodino talked about Career and Technical Education (CTE) work-based learning, events, work site/job shadows, the summer internship program and the CTE goals for 2025-26.
The Arlington School Board set its 2026 APS Legislative Priorities.
The board approved several policies during the board meeting.

Beyond the boardroom

On Sept. 23, Superintendent Dr. Chrys Sweeting, School Board President Mary Levesque, School Board Vice President Erica Knapp, and city of Arlington Mayor Don Vanney met with Weston High School Principal Andrea Dixon-Hundredmark to tour the school. They visited classrooms and talked with students.

Later that morning, Superintendent Dr. Chrys Sweeting, School Board President Mary Levesque, and city of Arlington Mayor Don Vanney met with Haller Middle School Principal Brooke Howell to tour the middle school. While visiting classes, they also looked at the progress being made on the pickleball courts that will be located east of the school.

Every month, the school board visits schools throughout the district.
